Description
Medium velvety dark violet-purple flowers 10-12cm with a slightly paler bar produced on a strong vine growing 2.5-3.0m. Flowering starts in late spring and goes into early autumn. The name commemorates the village in north-east Poland where, on 15 July 1410, during one of the largest Medieval European battles, the Polish-Lithuanian military forces decisively defeated the German-Prussian Teutonic knights.
Clematis are an interesting and easy to grow climbing habit vine. As they emerge from their winter dormancy, they continue to provide a bright and beautiful display with stunning blooms from Spring through Autumn. They prefer a shaded position, preferably with their feet in the shade and their heads in the sun! A cool root system is the secret to success with these beauties. Very showy and a great way of adding softness to spaces, with the lovely pale pastel tones.
